I ordered the Balboa VL701S top side controller for my old hot tub to replace the older version, and it worked great when plugging it into the Balboa VS510SZ main unit. You might have to get an extension cable for it though, as the 7ft cable might not be long enough.

Excellent. This unit is made by the MFG that produced the original that came with my Thermal spa hot tub. Its function is exactly the same. Whats better is it matches the tubs color scheme and buying on line cuts out the big mark up.

So I purchased this product about 2 weeks ago and so far so good. The last one we had was old and go gotten left under the cover and ended up corroded. It still worked but you could not see display panel anymore. Hopefully this one will last as long as the last one did!
